This past week we had the blessing of having 3 young missionaries come and begin visits to our Catholic Elementary Schools associated with our parish. They have been giving relevant and powerful talks on the beauty of chastity to our youth...and to all of us adults present as well!
Chastity is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. It helps us to moderate our desires with right faith and reason according both the Gospel and the Church's teaching on human sexuality. In an age when even children are being encouraged to live in a way that is diametrically opposed to common sense and our Christian Faith, Jesus reminds us that "nothing unclean will enter into heaven" (Revelations 21:27) and that only "the pure of heart shall see God" (Matthew 5:8).
May this universal call to chastity be accepted and lived as challenge and gift for all of us, regardless of our vocation.
